By the end of class students will be able to isolate and edit specific portions of an image as evidenced by removing a portion of one image and placing it in another.
DLT:By the end of class students will be able to identify various POV shots and
Simplicity as evidenced by finding 3 images that demonstrate high POV, low POV, and simplicity. DLT:By the end of class students will be able to determine balance in a photograph
as evidenced by writing a short paragraph about each of the three photos below describing whether or not they are balanced and why. Photo #1 : This image would be considered balanced because it has a major focus and a minor focus in it. The dog in the bottom right corner takes up only a small part of the photo while the valley area behind it takes up the rest of the space. The dog also happens to be completely different color from the rest of the imgae which makes it stand out even though the valley takes up most of the mass of the image. Photo #2: This photo would also the considered balanced because it had an obvious sunject right in the middle. There's not alot of things beside it drawing attention away from it and the colors of the picture are all very vibrant drawing attetion to both the sky and ground. Photo #3: The last image is also balanced because even though it is in black and white the man in the right side take up that third of the image. The colors of the background of the image are mostly grey tones but the man has lighter white and darker black tones b DLT:By the end of class students will be able to differentiate between subject and background as evidenced by finding a picture with a clearly defined subject and background, and one without.
DLT: By the end of class students will be able to bring multiple images into a single Photoshop document as evidenced by creating a collage of at least 5 images.
By the end of class students will understand the design principle known as "Less
is More" or "Minimalism" as evidenced by writing a paragraph about this principle and finding an example of an image that applies this principle well, and finding an example that ignores it. The term less is more also known as minimalism in visual art reffers to a style that uses pared-down design elements. It moves towards geometric abstarction, simplicity is preferable to complexity. DLT: By the end of class students will be familiar with the Brightness/Contrast image adjustment, as well as other image adjustments, as evidence by by finding a dark image and brightening it up.
DLT: By the end of class students will be able to manipulate Layer Styles in Photoshop as evidence by creating a stroke around an image of their choosing, adding text to their document and then a drop shadow next to the text.
DLT:By the end of class students will begin to create new layers and apply effects
to them as evidenced by adapting this information to an image of their choosing. DLT: By the end of class students will become familiar with the crop tool as evidence by reframing a horizontal image as a portrait and by straightening a slanted photograph
